Network Problem

Hi all,

I'm currently trying to restore my sycing-system after I shot it due to
an update...

I am encountring the following popup on my pda after beeing connected
for a while:
"Vom Server zugewiesene IP-Adresse kann nicht abgerufen werden.
Versuchen Sie es später erneut, oder geben Sie in den
Netzwerkeinstellung eine IP-Adresse ein"

For those not fluent in German:
"The IP provided by the server cannot be reached. Try again later or set
an IP-Address in the Network settings"

The label of the popup is "Windows CE-Network"

I m not aware that I changed anything with the network setting since I
had it running, but I might be wrong.

I thought that this might be a RAPI-Issue. I upgraded to all the current
SVN Versions. I build the packages for python-rapi2, python-rra,
python-rtfcomp myself, due to depencies issues with Python < 2.6. (Mark,
any chance of getting rid of this, might be help full for other
Ubuntu-Users.)

Any help is appreciated!

Cheers,

achim

Do you mean you have a successful connection (pls works), which then
gets dropped ?

Do you have networkmanager running ? Does something cause it to change
the network setup ?

Nothing I can do, its the way python packages are built. You can rebuild
the packages on your system andthey will use the locally available
version.

Hi,

just finshed setting up a clean partnership on setting up clean
opensync-config.

Also decided to use a virgin calandr to avoid strange past events which
were probably causing problems in the past.

The result:

At first got this output from sync-engine:
---------------------------------------
Exception happened during processing of request from ('169.254.2.1',

After syncing a couple of times, it worked ;-)
Only had a handfull of events going from evolution to the pda. But that
looks fine. Strangely, some of the contacts don't get transfered. If I
edit the contact in evolution (even if nothing is changed: insert a
charckter, delete the chrarckter) and save it, the contact gets
transfered.
Any Ideas?

At the moment, it seems that the IP-adress-issue is gone.

Keep you updated!

I need the rest of the sync-engine log to debug this - this looks like a
problem in the wbxml conversion but the exception itself is of little
use without being able to see the data that caused it. Can you attempt
to recreate this exception and this time save (and send me) the full
sync-engine log?

John.
