Hi all,

someone suggested some necessary steps when they upgraded to 0.11, so I
thought this growing list (currently containing 2 items) should be
immortalised in the wiki!

So I've created an upgrade guide: http://www.synce.org/moin/UpgradeGuide

Could you please have a glance over it and see if it's complete and easy
to understand! Users: did you have to perform any other steps? Devs:
anything else necessary?

In a day or so I'll link to it on the front page under
"Documentation" (is this where it belongs?)

John Gow, you're the worst with "update errata"! I've been trying to
follow your changelogs as much as possible, but no doubt I've missed
something. Is deleting and re-creating partnerships necessary between
0.x and 0.11?

comments appreciated! thanks,

Ouch! That hurt! :-)

I tend to work from dates and SVN revisions, posting major changes to
the lists and EVERYTHING major is in the changelog! I am not sure from
which SVN versions the releases are constructed but I do try to provide
verbose and nauseating descriptions of all major changes, including
major API and usage changes and especially where this impacts on the
usage I mention it on the list as well. What else can I do? Sometimes it
takes longer to compose and write the CHANGELOG entry than it does to
write the code!

John.

Sorry, my sincerest apologies, that didn't quite come out the way I
meant it :) When I said worst, I wasn't referring to your intentions.
Nor was I referring to bad design. I acknowledge that you do a great
amount of good work with sync-engine etc. In fact, if it wasn't for
your help debugging some of my issues I wouldn't have any sort of
syncing working now.

Anyway, "you're the worst" is perhaps not so tongue in cheek elsewhere
than in Australia. I simply meant that most upgrade requirements (that
I've discovered so far) are a result of sync-engine changes. Again,
this isn't bad, it probably reflects the huge amount of work that you've
done on sync engine.

Absolutely!

I don't understand your reason for singling out John here. Looking at
his CHANGELOG in SyncEngine, it looks fine.. Please explain what you
mean by this comment?

Thanks,
