Folks,
I think I have a line on the WM6 problem with disappearing PIM items on
changing a partnership. I can now reproduce this problem reliably with a
WM6 device. It is during the deletion of the partnership that the
problem occurs (not the creation) and it seems that all PIM items are
affected if selected in the partnership.
If you want to back up your PIM data prior to testing:
- locate the file 'pim.vol' on the root of your device
- copy this to another location (e.g. a storage card) or pcp it to the
host.
To restore:
- rename the 'pim.vol' in the root to something else, like 'pim.bak'
- copy the pim.vol you saved back to the root of the device
- soft-reboot the device.
This procedure is reliable and should allow you to test without
completely losing your PIM data.
Can someone confirm whether they see sync-engine/delete_partnerships.py
hang when deleting a partnership with WM6?
I have some major enhancements to sync-engine in work at the moment and
planned for a commit in the next few days. I aim to have a fix for this
problem then, but in the meantime the above procedure should preserve
PIM data.
John.
